Who Am I? - Gehrig Thurston

Hi, my name is Gehrig Thurston, and I am from Sayre, PA. I am a Freshman here at Bloomsburg University, and I am majoring in Early Childhood Education. I graduated from Athens Area High School, which is just a little south of the border of New York State.

I played two sports in High School, both of which were Cross Country and Track & Field. I did Cross Country in the 7th grade, and picked it back up from my Sophomore year to my Senior year. I also did Track for my Junior and Senior years. Although I occasionally try to go to the gym every now and then, I will still run from time to time at The Rec.

Some interesting facts about me are that I have been to 10 concerts, and I did Taekwondo when I was in elementary and middle school, and stopped during Covid. I also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts.

  1. Hi Gehrig! One thing that catches my attention is that you achieved the Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts, it catches my attention because my grandpa use to hold boy scout events down below my house and till this day, there are still stuff that is down there from when he did that! Another thing that sticks out is that you have been to 10 concerts, that's wild to me!

  2. Hi Gehrig, I think it is really cool that you have been to 10 concerts and know Taekwondo. I think Taekwondo is a fascinating and useful thing to know in life.

  3. Hey Gehrig, I find it kind of funny we both used to do martial arts but stopped right as the pandemic started. I've been debating whether or not to pick it back up. Have you thought about it as well?

  4. Thanks for sharing, Gehrig. It's too bad that covid interrupted your Taekwondo fun. Perhaps it's work going back to?
